In the Name of God è ispirata ai tragici fatti dell'Assedio di Waco, uno scontro armato della durata di circa cinquanta giorni tra l'FBI e la setta dei Davidiani, una setta della Chiesa cristiana Avventista del Settimo Giorno. Lo scontro, avvenuto nel 1995, costò la vita a una novantina di persone.
