Last night I had too much to drink
sitting in a club with so many fools
playing to rules
trying to impress
and feeling rather empty
I had another drink

What a way to spend that evening
you don't turn up with their friends
playing their game
here in the scene or it should be
far away

Getting up first without remembering
where I've been
I open the door to an empty room
then I forget

The telephone rings and someone speaks
she would very much like to go
out to a show
so what can I do, I can't think what to say
she sees trough any way

Out of the front door I go
traffic's moving rather slow
arriving late
there she waits looking very angry
as cross as she can be

Ieri notte ho bevuto troppo
sedevo in una discoteca con tanti altri idioti
seguivo le regole
cercavo di impressionare gli altri
ma in realtà mi sentivo vuoto
E così bevvi un altro bicchiere

Che modo di passare una serata
non ti sei fata vedere con i loro amici
giocando con me
qui sul palco o dovrebbe essere
molto lontano

Mi sono svegliato senza ricordarmi
dov'ero stato
ho aperto la porta di una stanza vuota
e poi me ne sono dimenticato

Il telefono squilla e qualcuno parla
le piacerebbe molto andare
a uno spettacolo
cosa posso fare, non so cosa dire
lo capisce in ogni modo

Esco dalla porta principale
Il traffico si muove lentamente
arrivo tardi
eccola che aspetta, infuriata
davvero arrabbiata
